Women of Jal Agha: Kurdish unity is essential to protect rights, gains

In light of the political developments in the region, women from the city of Jal Agha emphasized the importance of unifying the Kurdish front and overcoming party differences, affirming that the current phase requires a united Kurdish stance to face challenges and protect the achievements made over the past years.

In this context, Salamat Remo said that the Kurdish people have waged a long struggle throughout history against the policies of denial, exclusion, and extermination that were practiced against them after the division of Kurdistan among four countries. She pointed out that these policies contributed to creating a rift among Kurdish forces and negatively affected the path toward Kurdish unity.

She added that the Kurds, despite internal divisions, managed to protect their existence and achievements through many years of struggle and resistance. However, the current phase requires more than that, emphasizing that "unity has become a fundamental necessity to confront internal divisions and ensure the protection of Kurdish existence and the interests of the Kurdish people."

Salamat Remo emphasized the necessity for Kurdish parties and forces to overcome partisan disputes and work in the spirit of national partnership for the public interest. She mentioned that any rapprochement or understanding among Kurdish forces positively reflects on the Kurdish street, which has been exhausted by political conflicts.

She emphasized that the responsibility of achieving unity does not rest solely on political parties, but includes all segments of Kurdish society, calling on the community to exert pressure on Kurdish forces and parties to ensure their commitment to the path of unity, adding: "Those who do not accept the path of unity should not represent the Kurdish people."

For her part, Rubina Youssef affirmed that the unity of the Kurdish front represents a source of strength for the Kurds in facing the challenges confronting the Kurdish cause, calling on civil society and community forces to play a greater role in pressuring political parties and forces to overcome partisan differences and commit to unity.

She pointed out that the achievements made were the result of the sacrifices of thousands of martyrs in various parts of Kurdistan, affirming that the path to ensuring the rights of the Kurdish people passes through understanding and national partnership among the different Kurdish parties.

Rubin Youssef added that preserving the future of the Kurds in the region requires awareness and shared responsibility between society and political forces, in order to end the attempts of extermination, denial, and assimilation that the Kurdish people have faced for decades.

For her part, Hamida Marai said that Kurdish unity constitutes the fundamental guaranty for the Kurds to obtain their legal and constitutional rights, especially in the context of the phase in which the Kurdish people are striving to establish their political and legal rights in the new Syria.

She added that the Kurds in Rojava are now at a pivotal stage close to achieving political and constitutional gains, which makes unity an urgent necessity to end the party disputes that only benefit the enemies of the Kurds.

Hamida Marai emphasized at the end of her speech that the Kurdish community is today required to play an active role in pressuring political forces and parties to achieve unity, pointing out that protecting Kurdish gains and existence is a shared collective responsibility between the people and the Kurdish political forces.
