As the 26th anniversary of the international conspiracy against Leader Abdullah Ocalan approaches, North and East Syria is witnessing widespread mobilization condemning the torture and extermination policies imposed on him in Imrali. Women from various regions are preparing to participate in a mass march in Qamishlo, demanding his release and physical freedom.

The path of freedom and the resistance approach

In this context, Zahra Amin from Tal Tamr emphasized that the Leader, through his thoughts and philosophy, has paved the way for freedom for all the peoples of the region. She stated, "We, the women of North and East Syria, are determined to escalate the struggle and participate in mass events. We will head to Qamishlo to express our rejection of the international conspiracy and to demand the leader’s freedom."

Eva Al-Hassan also stressed that the women of Tal Tamr, like all the women in the region, will not leave the squares of struggle. She said, "We will continue the resistance until the physical freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan is achieved. He is the one who provided us with the ideology that broke the chains and opened the path to liberation."

Meanwhile, Dilber Shmo from Darbasiyah stated that mass mobilization and popular unity are the keys to breaking the isolation and ending the policies of extermination. She affirmed, "The conditions set by the Turkish occupation state for any peace process are completely unacceptable unless the leader gains his physical freedom. That is why we must take to the streets in large numbers and continuously escalate our struggle until this goal is achieved."

Women’s determination to continue the activism

Umiya Hajoub, a member of the Kongra Star in Al-Shaddadi, who joined the convoy of women heading to Qamishlo, stressed that the torture and extermination policies imposed by the Turkish occupation authorities on the Leader, as well as depriving him of his basic rights, are blatant violations. She said, "The Leader did not only call for the freedom of his people but also focused on women's liberation. This is the main reason driving us today to escalate the resistance and demand an end to his isolation."

Walida Mohammed, also a member of the Kongra Star from the same city, pointed out that participating in the march is a reaffirmation that Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s ideology has become a guiding light for generations in North and East Syria. She added, "Thanks to his philosophy, society has been freed from patriarchal constraints, and women have become an essential part of various fields, political, military, social, and economic. That is why we are here today to loudly declare: Leader Abdullah Ocalan is not alone, and we will continue our struggle until his physical freedom is achieved."
