UK drone strike kills ISIS fighter in Syria

The British Ministry of Defence announced that a drone operated by the Royal Air Force executed an airstrike on June 10, targeting an ISIS mercenary riding a motorcycle in Sarmada, Idlib countryside. 

According to the British newspaper *The Sun*, citing the Ministry, a Reaper drone fired a Hellfire missile that directly hit the motorcycle, killing the mercenary instantly. The newspaper noted that the drone's operating crew ensured the area was clear of civilians before carrying out the strike, emphasizing that the operation was conducted with high precision and caused no collateral damage. The mercenary had reportedly been under surveillance for some time before being targeted in the June 10 strike.

Local sources had previously reported the death of an unidentified person in a missile attack by an unidentified drone targeting a motorcycle on the Sarmada-Bardqli road in northern Idlib on the morning of June 10. In a separate incident, the U.S. Central Command (Pentagon) announced on the same day that it had conducted a precision airstrike that killed a senior ISIS leader in northwest Syria.

 In a statement on the *X* platform, the Command said the strike targeted Rahim Boyev, a key figure involved in planning external operations that "posed a direct threat to American citizens and innocent civilians."

The Command shared an image showing the completely destroyed vehicle Boyev was in, confirming that the operation was part of ongoing efforts to disrupt ISIS activities in the region. These operations are part of a series of strikes conducted by the United States and Britain against ISIS mercenaries, aimed at limiting their ability to reorganize and launch regional or international attacks.
