Turkish Gendarmerie tortures 11 people, mostly children

Eleven people, the majority of whom were children, were tortured by Turkish Gendarmerie near the occupied city of Girê Spî, on the Syrian-Turkish border, while trying to cross the border into Turkey.

A group of 11 people, mostly children, were beaten and tortured on Sunday by Turkish gendarmerie near the occupied city of Girê Spî on the Syrian-Turkish border as they attempted to cross into Turkey.

According to reports, most of them are from the cities of Aleppo, Hasaka, and Shaddadi.

Footage and photos obtained by ANHA agency show signs of torture and severe beatings on their bodies, including injuries from sharp instruments and burns on some.

The Turkish gendarmerie also confiscated all their personal belongings; money, mobile phones, and clothing, and subjected them to cruel treatment and abuse during their detention.

After being tortured, the group was dumped on the Syrian side of the border, where local residents rushed to rescue them, providing them with clothes and assistance.
