DEM party delegation heads to Imrali Island

The delegation from the Peoples' Democracy and Equality (DEM) heading to Imrali Island to meet with leader Abdullah Ocalan. This is the first visit since the formation of the Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Parliamentary Committee.

The delegation from the Peoples' Democracy and Equality (HDP) is making an official visit to Imrali Island to meet with Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The visiting delegation includes: Parwin Buldan, Deputy Speaker of the Turkish Parliament; Mithat Sancar, DEM party Representative for Urfa Province; and Faiq Özgür Erol, a lawyer from the Asr Law Office.

This visit is the first of its kind since the formation of the "Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy" parliamentary committee, which was recently announced within the Turkish Parliament to resolve the Kurdish issue and to address Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s call for peace and a democratic society.

During the meeting, Leader Abdullah Ocalan is expected to deliver an important message regarding the committee's work, reflecting his aspirations for a new phase of the democratic struggle.
