Channel: Israel targets air defense base in Damascus countryside

An Israeli channel reported that an airdrop carried out by Tel Aviv in the Damascus countryside targeted an air defense base, killing seven soldiers and destroying military equipment.

Israel's Kan Channel reported on Thursday that an airdrop operation on Mount Mani, southwest of Damascus, targeted "an air defense base used by Iranian forces during the reign of former President Bashar al-Assad."

According to media sources, Damascus government forces discovered surveillance and eavesdropping devices at the site on Tuesday. While attempting to deal with them, they were subjected to an Israeli airstrike, killing seven soldiers.

Last night, Israeli warplanes launched successive raids on the 76th Brigade in Harjala and on Mount Mani near Kisweh, destroying military sites and causing casualties.

According to Israeli Army Radio, following the bombing, special forces carried out an airdrop on a military site in the Damascus countryside, destroying logistical equipment and removing some of it. The radio added that the operation was carried out by four helicopters with the participation of more than 30 personnel, while flares were dropped to ensure movement.
