In a statement, Switzerland’s Foreign Ministry announced the cancellation of the talks that had been set to take place today, Friday, at the Bürgenstock mountain resort in Switzerland between the United States and Iran.

The statement came after a White House spokesperson said hours earlier that the U.S. Vice President J. D. Vance had canceled a planned trip to meet Iranian negotiators in Switzerland today, Friday, to begin discussions on implementing the agreement reached between Tehran and Washington aimed at ending their conflict.

These developments come only hours after reports suggested that Iran had linked the implementation of some understandings with the United States to progress toward a ceasefire in Lebanon, reflecting how regional issues have become intertwined with the ongoing negotiations between the two sides.

So far, no additional official statements have been issued by Washington or Tehran clarifying the future of the talks or whether a new date will be set.
