"Sweida for its people"… Demonstrations demand return of villages, rights of abducted

Today, residents of the evacuated villages in the western countryside and residents of Sweida city held two new demonstrations in Sweida and Shahba, under the slogan “Sweida for its people”, demanding their right to return to their destroyed homes in areas controlled by the Syrian transitional government forces.

The protesters, through chants and banners, emphasized the unity of the popular stance against the violations and attacks that targeted their villages and families, affirming their insistence on the right to return and their refusal to relinquish their lands and property amid continued violations in their areas.

The demonstrators carried Druze community flags, flags of the Druze “National Guard” forces, pictures of martyrs from the city and its countryside, images of abducted men and women, as well as flags of some parties guaranteeing the ceasefire agreement in southern Syria, including the American flag.

These demonstrations are part of a series of daily protest activities carried out by residents and civil groups in Sweida, aimed at pressuring relevant authorities and the local community to take urgent action and end the suffering of the abducted and displaced.
