Suicide attack targets Internal Security HQs in Raqqa

Unknown gunmen, believed to be affiliated with ISIS sleeper cells, launched an attack on an Internal Security HQs in al-Raqqa city using automatic weapons and grenades. One of the attackers reportedly detonated an explosive vest inside the facility.

The city of Raqqa witnessed an armed attack targeting an Internal Security headquarters, triggering clashes and heightened tensions in the area. Initial reports suggest that ISIS sleeper cells may have been behind the assault.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights SOHR, an explosion was heard near Al-Intifada Street in western Raqqa, followed by an exchange of gunfire. Unidentified assailants attacked the facility with automatic weapons and grenades, while one of the attackers carried out a suicide bombing inside the site.

Following the attack, security forces deployed heavily around the area, and the relevant authorities launched an investigation to determine the circumstances of the incident and identify those responsible.

No confirmed information has yet been released regarding the extent of human casualties or material damage resulting from the attack.
