The General Organization for Social Insurance announced that it has begun completing the necessary procedures and executive instructions to resume the payment of pensions to civilian retirees whose pensions were suspended for security reasons before December 8, 2024, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

The measure comes in implementation of Decision No. 1223 issued by the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic on September 3, which provides for the payment of accumulated pensions to the beneficiary or their legal representative under a duly certified general or special power of attorney.

The organization said the payment of accumulated pensions, along with newly due pensions for beneficiaries, will begin on October 1, 2026, with all legally mandated increases stipulated in duly issued decrees taken into account.

The Director General of the General Organization for Social Insurance, Hassan Khatib, stressed the importance of the decision, saying it reflects an approach aimed at strengthening justice, redressing those affected and restoring their rights.

Khatib noted that the decision was the result of joint efforts by the Ministries of Finance and Social Affairs and Labor, along with the General Organization for Social Insurance, to address the issue of suspended pensions and redress those affected.
