HASAKAH

Today, the second convoy of displaced residents of Serêkaniyê, who are staying at the Serêkaniyê camp in the city of Hasakah, set off toward around 55 villages in the countryside of Serêkaniyê, Zerkan and Tel Tamr.

The convoy includes around 700 families, or approximately 7,000 people, as part of the return of the city’s displaced residents to their areas.

The first convoy returned on August 10, traveling from Tuwaynah town toward Serêkaniyê, and included around 400 families from the city and its countryside.

This comes after thousands of residents of Serêkaniyê and its countryside were displaced following the attack launched by the Turkish army and factions affiliated with it on the area on October 9, 2019.
