The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported on Tuesday that Moscow suggested reinstating Russian military police patrols in southern Syria to serve as a separation line between Israeli forces and the transitional Government forces, a move aimed at reducing escalation along the border strip.

The proposal comes amid rising tensions on the Syrian-Israeli border, where the area has seen repeated Israeli military activity, reflecting Moscow’s desire to strengthen its role as a mediator in the region.
