Today, Israel reopened the Rafah crossing between the Gaza Strip and Egypt after it had been closed for nearly three weeks, in order to allow a number of injured Palestinians to leave for medical treatment.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that only eight wounded individuals, along with 17 of their family members, were permitted to exit the Gaza Strip through the crossing into Egypt to receive medical care.

This comes as medics in Gaza announced that four people were killed as a result of Israeli airstrikes targeting several areas across the enclave.
