Residents of Qamishlo city affirmed that seeing Leader Abdullah Ocalan was a historic moment and represents a festive occasion unlike any other.

The people of Qamishlo expressed feelings of excitement and joy after watching Leader Abdullah Ocalan in a video released on July 9, 2025, emphasizing that this historic moment is a festive occasion incomparable to any other.

Citizen Hevin Hussein described the day Leader Ocalan appeared with sound and image for the first time in over a quarter of a century as “a joyful day for the Kurdish people,” adding, “Our happiness is indescribable. Today is different from all other holidays. On this occasion, we remember all the martyrs who gave their lives for freedom, and we hope their souls rest in peace.”

Meanwhile, citizen Aref Youssef said: “I felt as if I was born again. I saw the leader after all these long years, and I told myself I could now die in peace because I have seen him. But this is not enough, I am sure we will see him face to face soon.”

As for Nalin Osman, she recalled her parents’ lifelong hope of meeting the leader, saying, “Seeing Leader Abdullah Ocalan was a dream for us, and now it has come true.”
