At this very moment, dozens of political and societal figures and organizations from Kurdistan and abroad, as well as multiple media outlets, have arrived at the location in Southern Kurdistan where the planned procedures are to be carried out in response to Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s recent call under the framework of the "Peace and Democratic Society" initiative.

A delegation from the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) has also arrived at the event location.

The DEM Party's delegation includes several prominent figures, among them: Ahmed Turk, a member of the party’s Imrali delegation and Deputy Mayor of Mardin; party spokesperson Ayshe Gul Dogan; Medhat Sancar, also a member of the party’s Imrali delegation; Cengiz Candar, a parliamentarian from the city of Amed (Diyarbakir); Saruhan Oluç, another party MP; and Maral Bestas Danış, the party’s co-vice chair.

Today, Southern Kurdistan, specifically Sulaymaniyah Governorate, is witnessing practical measures by the People's Defense Forces and the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which announced the dissolution and the end of the armed struggle on May 12 this year, as one of the outcomes of its 12th congress.

According to ANHA correspondents, the scheduled procedures, set to begin at exactly 12 noon, include a statement by military forces and other military-related actions, affirming their commitment to fulfilling Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s call.

These measures come in response to Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s “Peace and Democratic Society” call issued on February 27 this year, and his most recent video message dated June 9.

The phase began with Leader Abdullah Ocalan’s announcement of the “Peace and Democratic Society” initiative on February 27, in which he stated: “The second century of the Republic can only attain unity and lasting continuity if it is crowned with democracy. Without democracy, there is no viable path for building or implementing systems; it becomes impossible. Democratic consensus is the essential method. In this process, I call for disarmament and assume historical responsibility for this call.”

In his latest video message, Leader Abdullah Ocalan said: “My belief lies in politics and societal peace, not in arms. I call on you to implement this principle.”
