PYD condemns attack targeting president of KRG office

The Democratic Union Party (PYD) condemned the attack that targeted the office of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, expressing its solidarity with the Kurdistan Regional Government and its people.

The co-presidency of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) said in a statement posted on the party’s Facebook page that the attack targeting the office of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government constitutes an assault on the security and stability of the KRG, as well as on the achievements and will of its people.

The party stressed that such attacks also target Rojava and the Kurdish people’s aspirations for freedom and stability.

The PYD renewed its solidarity with the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, his government, and the people of the region, wishing them and all members of the Kurdish people safety and security.

Authorities in the Kurdistan Region had previously announced that two drones targeted the office of the President of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the residence of a security official in the Pirmam area of Erbil Governorate, with no casualties reported.
