Protest against attacks on Rojava, violation of truce

Hundreds of women in the Jazira region held a protest in April 4th Park in Hasaka city, denouncing the attacks targeting Rojava cities and condemning the Turkish-backed mercenaries of the Syrian Interim Government for violating the ceasefire agreement.

The protest began with holding a minute of silence in honor of the martyrs. Then, Jiyan Hussein; the member of the Kongra Star Coordination in Jazira region, delivered a speech praising the great resistance demonstrated by the people of Kobane against the aggression, coinciding with the 11th anniversary of the city's liberation from ISIS mercenaries.

Jiyan affirmed that they would continue the struggle with the spirit of resistance embodied by Kobane, stating, "We, the members of the Kongra Star, will preserve and protect the gains achieved thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs Saliha Arabo, Deniz Halab, and Arin Mirkan."

Jiyan renewed her pledge to follow the path of freedom, struggle, and resistance until a free and democratic homeland is established.

In her concluding remarks, Jiyan Hussein emphasized that the genocidal attacks the Kurdish people are facing today are part of an international conspiracy aimed at eliminating the Kurdish struggle and thwarting their democratic project, affirming at the same time that these attacks will not achieve their goals, and that the will of the Kurdish people is stronger than any plots or conspiracies targeting their land and existence.

The protest concluded with chants praising the resistance in Kobane and Rojava.
