Political parties decry Turkish aggression; calling on international to intervene

The Syrian Kurdish Democratic Accord Party, the Kurdistan Workers' Union, the Kurdistan Liberal Union, and the Kurdistan Democratic Peace Party issued a joint statement in which they condemned the Turkish occupation attacks targeting civilians and service facilities in the region.

The statement said: “This criminal act carries a new message from Turkey that the campaign of genocide against the Kurdish people and the rest of the components in AANES areas continues, and that it will continue its war against any democratic project in the region, and that it will continue to create chaos, stir up strife, and attack efforts to achieve security and stability and fight... Terrorism represented by ISIS in the region.

The statement called on "all national political forces and parties, and all our people from all components, to stand united in the face of the terrorism practiced by Turkey against the region and its people, and to stand alongside the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Internal Security Forces that are ensuring the protection and security of the region."

In this context, the Central Information Office of the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party in Syria issued a statement in which it confirmed, “What is happening does not target a specific party, but rather targets the Kurdish presence in Syria and targets Syria’s unity and survival as a state.”

The statement called on "the Syrian state to clarify its position on this aggression, and to resort to the United Nations and the Security Council to expose Turkey's practices and put an end to these aggressive acts." It also called on "the international community to carry out its responsibilities to deter Turkey from its barbaric actions."
