SDC calls on Syrian people to stand united in face of Turkish occupier

The Syrian Democratic Council condemned the Turkish occupation attacks and said that these attacks are a flagrant violation of international law. It also called on “the Syrian people to stand united in the face of the Turkish occupier and its aggression.”

The Syrian Democratic Council issued a statement regarding the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and the targeting of infrastructure in NE, Syria.

At the beginning of its statement, the Syrian Democratic Council condemned “strongly and in the harshest terms the air strikes and hostile attacks by the Turkish occupation state on civilian facilities and infrastructure in NE, Syria during the last three days and up to this moment, and considers these attacks a blatant violation of international law and a serious threat to peace and security in the region. And as It strongly denounces the silence of the international community regarding the brutal war crimes committed by the occupying Turkish entity against the people of NE, Syria, and stresses that failure to address these crimes constitutes a serious neglect of human values and the basic principles of justice and human rights.

The statement added, "The Turkish occupation state is acting as a rogue state in the region and practicing terrorism in its ugliest forms. Through these attacks, it aims to strike security and stability, create chaos, revive the terrorist organization ISIS, occupy other areas of NE, Syria, and carry out displacement, ethnic cleansing, and demographic change operations.

The statement said, "The suspicious silence shown by the international community, and in particular the weakness shown by the United States of America and the Russian Federation in the face of the hostile and terrorist actions carried out by the Turkish occupier against the Syrian people, encourages further escalation and endanger the lives of citizens, which is reprehensible and unacceptable." “It has become a subject of doubt and question, and it results in serious indicators surrounding the seriousness and commitment of the member states of the Security Council and their strength in enforcing international law and holding accountable those who violate this law.”

The statement called on "the Syrian state and the Arab countries to assume their responsibilities and work to end the Turkish occupation of Syrian lands because of its dangerous effects on Arab security and existence. It also consistently calls on both the United States and the Russian Federation to take urgent measures to protect the rights and lives of people, and to take an effective and decisive role." In the Security Council to stop Turkish hostilities and hold it accountable for its crimes against the Syrians.”

At the conclusion of its statement, the Syrian Democratic Council called on "the Syrian people to stand united in the face of the Turkish occupier and its aggression, and calls on all peoples who support liberation issues to raise their voices and move to confront the new Turkish Nazism, whose tyranny and hostility to humanity is growing."
