Partial cancellation of "Nasr Boulevard" project in Homs following local protests

Al Omran Real Estate Development and Investment Company officially announced the cancellation of the reconstruction project in the Al-Qarabis neighborhood in Homs, stressing that the decision comes as part of an ongoing evaluation to ensure that its projects align with technical and social priorities.

The company affirmed its commitment to continuing work on the remaining projects in the Nasr Boulevard project in Homs.

The announcement came after repeated protests by residents of the Qarabees neighborhood, who have been demonstrating since Friday in rejection of the so-called "Nasr Boulevard" project, demanding its halt and the cancellation of any plans to demolish their homes and shops.

The protesters held up signs reading "No to the Boulevard" and chanted slogans against the investor, demanding a freeze on real estate transactions. This was the neighborhood's third demonstration since the project was announced.
