Forces loyal to the Syrian transitional government carried out a forced evacuation of the village of Kafr Aqeed in the al-Ghab Plain in the Hama countryside. Residents were forced to leave their homes without being allowed to take any personal belongings or money.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the operation was carried out by force. Residents left their homes in only the clothes on their backs. The forces informed them that the village had become the property of others, without providing any further explanation.

The sources noted that the village of Kafr Aqeed had not been subjected to any recent fires in the al-Ghab Plain, denying any direct connection between the evacuation and previous incidents.
