The Turkish Parliament has announced the date for the launch of the parliamentary committee overseeing the “Peace and Democratic Society Process.” The inaugural meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday, August 5, in the ceremonial hall of the parliament building.

Speaker of the Parliament, Numan Kurtulmuş, has sent an official invitation to members of parliament to attend the meeting, which will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Kurtulmuş is expected to deliver an opening speech addressing the importance of the committee’s work and its role in the coming phase.

During the meeting, committee members will assess the current political and social situation and discuss the committee’s tasks and the principles that will guide its work.

The meeting will also involve decisions regarding the committee’s operating mechanism and its future agenda, as part of efforts to address the Kurdish issue through dialogue and the pursuit of democratic and peaceful solutions.
