Hundreds of demonstrators gathered in al-Karama Square following a call by civil society actors, demanding the withdrawal of the transitional government forces and denouncing their policies.

Protesters raised slogans calling for the lifting of the blockade imposed on Sweida and the opening of a humanitarian crossing with Jordan to secure residents’ basic needs and ensure freedom of movement amid the deteriorating living and humanitarian conditions in the region.

The demonstrators also rejected the investigative committee announced yesterday, claiming it lacks independence and transparency. Instead, they called for an impartial international investigation into the crimes and violations committed in the city and for those responsible to be held accountable.

These popular mobilizations come amid escalating tensions in southern Syria, at a time when both local and international demands are growing for the protection of civilians and the safeguarding of freedom of expression and movement in the city.
