“Our demand is the physical freedom of leader”

Women from the city of Kobani called for achieving the physical freedom of leader Abdullah Ocalan, considering it a fundamental step to address unresolved issues.

Badiya Mahu said: “The physical freedom of leader Abdullah Öcalan represents a fundamental step to solve problems,” noting that more than a year has passed since the “peace and democratic society” process began.

She added that the Turkish state continues to impose isolation on him and refuses to grant him physical freedom.

Badiya further stated that achieving his physical freedom could pave the way for solutions to ongoing problems and create an atmosphere of peace and stability. She emphasized that the demand of Kobani’s women is his release.

For her part, Hadla Hassan said that on February 27, 2025, leader Abdullah Öcalan issued a call for “peace and democratic society,” stressing that the current phase requires granting him physical freedom.

She added that women have come to understand their rights and freedom through his ideas and called for continuing the demand for his release.

Meanwhile, Wahida Said Ahmad confirmed that the isolation imposed on him is ongoing and stressed that women will continue demanding his release, considering that “the physical freedom of the leader means the freedom of society and women.”
