Families of detainees in Hasaka, Darbasiyah demand immediate release of prisoners

Today, families of detainees across Rojava organized new protest vigils demanding the release of their relatives, who have been held by the Syrian Interim Government since early January. They stressed that the Interim Government’s procrastination is preventing a resolution to the issue.

HASAKA

In this context, families of detainees and residents of the city of Hasaka called for the immediate release of their relatives held by the Interim Government, affirming that protests will continue until their detainees are freed. The demonstration took place at the Al-Hamama roundabout in the Tel Hajar neighborhood.

During the vigil, participants held banners bearing messages calling for the release of their children and stressing the need to resolve this issue before all others within the framework of the January 29 agreement.

DARBASIYAH

In Darbasiyah, a similar protest vigil was organized by families of detainees in front of the Women’s Roundabout, where a number of residents gathered holding photos of their relatives, demanding clarity on their fate and their release.

Participants chanted slogans expressing their pain and suffering, including “We want our detainees,” emphasizing that their cause is a humanitarian one and requires serious action from the concerned authorities.

Protesters noted that the silence of the responsible authorities and the continued detention of their relatives are deepening their daily suffering, calling for urgent and practical steps to resolve the issue.

At the conclusion of the vigil, families of detainees reaffirmed their commitment to continuing peaceful actions until their demands are met, the fate of all detainees is revealed, and their safe return to their families is ensured.
