Netanyahu holds security meeting to discuss Iran threats

According to the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the meeting will focus on recent regional developments and potential security risks.

Earlier today, Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Headquarters stated that "the Israeli attacks on Beirut's southern suburbs will not go unanswered."

In the same context, Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian Parliament's National Security Committee, revealed that Iran would respond to the targeting of Beirut's southern suburbs "tonight."

Posting on X, Rezaei said Iran would deliver a "decisive and painful response" to the strike, adding: "Watch the skies over the occupied territories tonight."

Earlier today, Israeli warplanes carried out an airstrike on Beirut's southern suburbs "on the orders of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz," according to the Israeli military.

Israeli media reports also indicated that Tel Aviv informed the U.S. administration of the strike on the Mreijeh area in Beirut's southern suburbs before it was carried out.
