NE Syria Negotiating Committee: Initial agreement reached, roles, structure discussed

The North and East Syria Negotiating Committee announced, in conjunction with the Syrian Transitional Government, that it has reached an initial agreement regarding military forces, while work is underway to discuss details related to roles and structure.

The North and East Syria Negotiation Committee, through its "X" platform, announced the latest developments in the negotiations, confirming that "a preliminary agreement has been reached to keep three units related to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) within the Syrian Army's military structure."

It made clear that "technical discussions are currently underway through specialized committees from both sides to examine the details related to roles and organizational structure," noting that this process "is expected to witness practical steps in the coming period."

The committee added that "this track enjoys clear international support pushing for a political solution based on dialogue," considering this option "the most realistic way to ensure stability."

It stressed that "any tangible progress requires avoiding media escalation and hate speech," calling for "focusing on understanding and partnership as the only way to build a sustainable solution in Syria."
