Mor Maurice Amsih: We all pray for releasing leader Ocalan

The delegation of the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan visited the Syriac Orthodox Archbishop of al-Jazera and Euphrates in the city of Hasaka and meet with the Archbishop, Mor Maurice Amsih.

The delegation which included the initiative’s spokesperson, Farzandeh Munther, and the initiative’s members, Noha Omar and Fouad Joli, explained the aims of the global campaign that was launched to achieve the leader’s physical freedom and break the isolation imposed on him for 39 months.

We all pray for his release

Mor Maurice Amsih described Leader Ocalan as the Nelson Mandela of the era, and that he is the key to the solution for the Middle East.

 “Leader Abdullah Ocalan endured a lot for the sake of the freedom of the people and the region. So we are all praying for his release in order to continue his path for humanity, because he built bridges of love and peace for everyone.” Amsih said.

Amsih added: “We also all pray that this initiative will be global for the sake of the people and not just for the Kurdish cause and we ask God  to release him, and place His security and peace on this holy land."

Amsih made the point clear: “We join our hand and our voice with all the good people in the world to release the leader Abdullah Ocalan, asking God to bless the peace of the world and Middle East.

In turn, the delegation of the Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan presented several books by Leader Abdullah Ocalan as a gift to the Bishop, Mor Maurice Amsih.

The Syrian Initiative for the Freedom of Leader Abdullah Ocalan has been conducting a series of meetings for some time with political, social and tribal forces and organizations within the framework of the campaign (Freedom for Leader Abdullah Ocalan, the solution to the Kurdish issue).

On Tuesday, the delegation of Syrian Initiative visited the Yazidi house in al-Jazera Canton in the village of Barzan in  Hasaka countryside.
