Meeting for IDP Alawites in Derik
The Derik City Council in the Jazira Canton held a meeting for the Alawites displaced from the coastal areas to the city in order to organize them and address their needs.

Twenty-five Alawite families have been displaced from the coastal areas to the city of Derik. To organize their affairs and meet their needs, the Derik City Council in the Jazira Canton organized a meeting for them this morning.
The meeting, held at the Dijla Center for Culture and Art in Derik, was attended by dozens of members of the Alawite community.
The meeting began with a minute of silence, followed by a speech from the administrator of the Derik City Council, who emphasized the importance of striving to organize the community and working towards improving the social, economic, and political conditions.
He stressed that: "There must be cooperation between all sects to reach the shore of freedom and confront the plans targeting the Alawite community through organizing them."
The meeting ended with listening to the demands of the residents for securing their basic necessities.
Dozens of massacres were committed against the Alawites between March 7 and 10.
