Lebanese Justice Minister Adel Nassar stated that Iran’s decision to enter direct negotiations with the United States reflects a shift in its approach, noting that Tehran has dropped its demand for a comprehensive ceasefire and agreed to talks in order to secure the release of its assets.

In a post on the X on Sunday, he wrote: “Iran has abandoned the condition of a comprehensive ceasefire and sat down at the table for direct negotiations with the United States to release its funds.”

He added, questioning: “Have all Lebanese, after all these wars, adventures, tragedies, and support fronts, become convinced that the only viable and saving option is Lebanon—Lebanon alone?”
