Leader Ocalan to join arms-laying and strategic coordination committee

According to information published by Nûjinha, leader Abdullah Ocalan will participate in the subcommittee on arms laying and strategic coordination, and will also work within the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee established as part of the Peace and Democratic Society Process.

It was also confirmed that plans are underway to establish a subcommittee operating in Turkey, Europe and the Kurdistan Region under the supervision of leader Abdullah Ocalan.

Discussions have been held within the Peace and Democratic Society Process over the next steps following the Turkish parliament’s adoption of the framework law on August 10. The Monitoring and Evaluation Committee established under the law held its first meeting on August 24.

The meeting was chaired by Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz at the Presidential Complex in Beştepe. It was attended by Justice Minister Kenan Gürlek, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi, Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, Intelligence Chief İbrahim Kalın, Secretary-General of the Presidency Hakkı Susmaz, and Secretary-General of the National Security Council Okay Memiş.

The meeting decided to establish the following subcommittees:

Subcommittee for Judicial and Legal Affairs Coordination.

Subcommittee for Monitoring and Identification.

Subcommittee for Social Unity and Integration.

Subcommittee for Arms Laying and Strategic Coordination.

The meeting also discussed the procedures and principles governing the committees’ work. The newly established committees are expected to manage and coordinate various aspects of the process and work toward achieving results in their respective areas.

According to the information, the committees will include ministry officials, bureaucrats and specialized experts, each according to its area of responsibility. The committees will also regularly monitor individuals and issues falling outside the scope of the framework law and make decisions concerning them.

Leader Abdullah Ocalan to Join Arms-Laying and Strategic Coordination Subcommittee

According to sources from the DEM Party, Abdullah Öcalan will become a member of the Subcommittee for Arms Laying and Strategic Coordination.

The committee, of which Öcalan is expected to be a member, will maintain direct communication and relations with other organizations and mechanisms involved in the arms-laying process.

Plans to Establish Subcommittee Headed by leader Ocalan

Discussions are also underway on establishing another subcommittee within the committees mentioned above. According to the information obtained, plans are being considered for a subcommittee headed by leader Ocalan, with the aim of enabling it to reach various organizational spheres.

The information indicates that the committee would consist of a team actively working in the Kurdistan Region, Europe and Turkey.

Sources said the issue was discussed during the first meeting of the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee on August 24, where details of the proposal were clarified.

DEM Party Central Executive Board to Meet

Meanwhile, the Central Executive Board of the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) will meet tomorrow.

The meeting is expected to discuss in detail the latest developments in the Peace and Democratic Society Process, the committees that have been established, and the next steps to be taken.
