·         The co-chair of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) office in Hasakah stressed that the return of displaced residents of Serkaniya to their city requires security guarantees. ·         Turkey and Israel are competing to shape Syria’s future and the region’s arrangements following the fall of the Baath regime, amid concerns that the country could become an open arena for regional conflict, according to the deputy director of a political think tank. He warned that continued friction between the two sides would make Damascus the biggest loser and hinder efforts to restore stability and rebuild the country.

·         Intellectuals called for recognition of the Kurdish language as an official language to be enshrined in Syria’s new constitution, arguing that the issuance of Decree No. 13 is not enough.
