Kurdish Politician: Leader Ocalan’s message is decisive step to establish peace

In line with the historic call launched by Leader Abdullah Ocalan under the title “Call for Peace and a Democratic Society” on February 27, 2025, Leader Ocalan issued a statement to the public today, broadcast by the Firat News Agency, in which he affirmed his commitment to implementing the phases of the call.

Faiq Kulbi said he felt proud and deeply moved to see Leader Abdullah Ocalan after more than a quarter of a century in isolation. He stated: “Today I watched Mr. Ocalan’s message and was very happy to see him after 26 years in solitary confinement on Imrali Island, where he was able to speak via video alongside his comrades, addressing Kurds, democrats, and freedom-seekers around the world.”

He added, “From the video, I could see that his health is very good, and I hope his condition continues to improve.”

Kulbi emphasized the significance of Leader Ocalan’s message, describing it as “extremely important.” He noted that Leader Ocalan stressed that the era of the nation-state and armed struggle has lost its political legitimacy in society, and that the current stage requires a transition to democratic, legal, and peaceful struggle.

He also expressed his gratitude to those striving to resolve the Kurdish issue in Kurdistan, Turkey, and the Middle East, and who are fighting for freedom and a democratic solution.

Kulbi stressed that “this initiative launched by Mr. Abdullah Ocalan toward the Middle East, a region torn apart by conflict and bloodshed, is a mature and strong stance aimed at extinguishing the flames of chaos. Everyone should respect this approach, support it, and work seriously for its success.”

He concluded by expressing hope that “Mr. Abdullah Ocalan is in good health and that his efforts will bear fruit,” affirming his aspiration for the march of peace, democracy, and a democratic society to move forward in Turkey and the Middle East.
