Formation 125 electoral committees in NE Syria for municipal elections
The formation of electoral committees for cities and towns within the 7 Cantons has ended, with the formation of 5 electoral committees in the cities and towns of Afrin and Shahba Canton.

The People's Democratic Councils in the 7 Cantons of NE Syria began forming the High Elections Commission committees within the Cantons, and since the 25th of last April, these committees formed within the Cantons began forming their electoral committees for cities and towns.
This comes in conjunction with the announcement by the High Electoral Commission in NE Syria, on May 12th, of the opening of nominations, in preparation for the municipal elections scheduled for next June 11th.
In the context of these preparations, the High Electoral Commission in Afrin and Shahba canton completed the formation of its electoral committees, forming 5 committees for the towns and cities of the canton, namely “Shirawa, Tal Rifaat, Ahran, Ahdath, and Fafin,” in line with the reality of that canton according to what was published by the Democratic Autonomous Administration website.
The People's Democratic Council in Afrin and Shahba canton formed the High Commission Committee for the canton's elections on May 7th of this month. The committee consists of 8 members, both male and female.
The High Electoral Commission committees in the Cantons of “Euphrates, Manbij, Jazera, Deir ez-Zor, Tabqa, and Raqqa” have previously completed the formation of their electoral committees for cities and towns.
With the formation of the 5 electoral committees for cities and towns in Afrin and Shahba canton, 125 electoral committees have been formed for the cities and towns of the northern and eastern Syrian region within its 7 cantons.
The electoral committees are now preparing to begin distributing electoral cards to those entitled to vote, through communes and councils.
