DAA's statement read,"Once again, Erdogan seeks to escape forward and mislead the people of Turkey with false arguments to direct Turkish public opinion towards the clear political and economic failure and to justify his attacks in Syria, Iraq, and the region, by presenting the Kurdish issue and Kurdish activists as an issue of “terrorism,” trying to turn a blind eye to the entire world’s relationship for support of ISIS terrorism"

“The ruling issued against Kurdish and Turkish politicians, led by the former co-chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, Mr. Selahattin Demirtaş and Vikanyosek Dağ, by the Turkish court, due to the support they provided to the Kobani resistance in fighting ISIS terrorism is nothing but an expression of the AKP government’s hiding and trying to Concealing the fact of its support for “ISIS terrorism” attacking democracy and the decisions of the European courts that called on the Justice government to release Demirtaş and other former opponents.

The entire world sympathized with our people in NE Syria, especially in Kobani, which defeated ISIS terrorism, the victory of Kobani was a victory for humanity.

At a time when we condemn this unjust ruling, we affirm to global public opinion and all those who believe in democracy in the world, human rights organizations and international bodies, our complete rejection of this policy adopted by Erdogan and his regime against us and the accusation of terrorism directed at our people and everyone who supports us in building the future of the region and Syria.

We stress that the Kurdish issue in Turkey is a just issue and must be resolved according to democratic constitutional foundations that take into account human rights and oppressed peoples inside Turkey.

Therefore, we call on human rights organizations to put pressure on Turkey to abandon these policies, and to reveal the truth to Turkish public opinion in order to prove the falsity of the Justice and Development narratives which have established historical hostility between Turkey and the peoples of the region.
