KCK congratulates anniversary of July 19 Revolution

The Co-Presidency of the Executive Council of the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) issued a statement on the occasion of the thirteenth anniversary of the July 19 Revolution, which reads as follows:

"Thirteen years have passed since the July 19 Revolution in Rojava, one of the most significant transformations in history. Today, we celebrate its thirteenth anniversary. We, in turn, congratulate, first and foremost, the peoples of Rojava and North and East Syria, and all the peoples of Kurdistan and Syria, including Arabs, Armenians, Druze, Turkmen, Syriacs, and Alawites, on the historic July 19 Revolution. We also extend our congratulations to the peoples of the Middle East and the world, to women, youth, and all socialist, revolutionary, democratic, and free forces. We especially salute the internationalist comrades who played a major role in the development and defense of this historic revolution. We commemorate this historic event as a joint revolution of the peoples, and we remember once again, with all respect, love, and gratitude, all the martyrs of the revolution.

The Rojava Revolution has added new values to our human history. First and foremost, it has enabled society – weakened by the nation-state system, stripped of its power and left without protection – to regain its awareness of its own ability and will. It has paved the way for the basic social dynamics, which were deprived of their rights, oppressed and exploited, to acquire the will to govern themselves, through organization and awareness. It has also contributed to removing linguistic, religious, sectarian and ethnic pluralism from being a cause of conflict, to be viewed as social wealth. It has enabled peoples, beliefs and cultures to live together again in brotherhood, within the framework of this democratic understanding. It has enabled women, who were pushed to the margins of social life and its darkest and most distant corners, to rise through awareness, enlightenment and organization, to play a pioneering role in the democratic societal transformation, and in defending and building the revolution simultaneously. It has also prepared the conditions for the emergence of a new generation of conscious youth. Organized and enlightened.

In short, the Rojava Revolution has become an important solution through its understanding of the democratic nation and women's liberation. It has proven its maturity in many aspects through its practical practice over the past 13 years. On the one hand, it has put up a great resistance alongside the people and the revolutionary forces and defended the revolution in the face of escalating attacks aimed at eliminating the revolution. On the other hand, it has continued to develop a democratic, liberating, and participatory system. From this logic, the July 19 Revolution successfully crossed an important historical threshold. In history, revolutions usually fail to develop both resistance and the revolutionary line due to internal and external attacks, but in North and East Syria this success has been achieved.

The July 19 Revolution, which was embodied in practice in Rojava and North and East Syria, also represents the most appropriate model for a solution across Syria. The current critical situation clearly demonstrates that resolving the outstanding issues in Syria and achieving its unity can only be achieved by adopting the principles of the July 19 Revolution, based on the concept of a democratic nation, democratic autonomous-administration, and women's liberation. Unilateral, sectarian, and nationalist attempts only deepen conflicts and perpetrate massacres, and pose the greatest and most dangerous threat to Syria's unity.

Once again, we congratulate all peoples on the historic July 19 Revolution. We are fully confident that the democratic alliance, organization, and struggle that advances the peoples along the lines of the July 19 Revolution will pave the way for achieving the desired peace, democratic life, and freedom throughout the Middle East.
