Israeli Army: evacuation of Gaza city’s residents is inevitable

The Israeli army announced today that the evacuation of Gaza City’s residents has become "an unavoidable necessity," paving the way for a large-scale military operation to take control of the besieged sector’s largest city. This decision follows a meeting of the Israeli Security Cabinet, while Israeli tanks advanced overnight on the city’s outskirts amid anticipation of a U.S.-led meeting on the war.

The Israeli army declared that evacuating Gaza City is now unavoidable amid military plans to seize control of the devastated and blockaded city, as approved by the Israeli government.

Army spokesperson Avichay Adraee urged residents to “relocate” to areas described as “vast and empty” in the southern Gaza Strip, such as the central camps and the Al-Mawasi region.

The statement came after a meeting of the Security Cabinet, during which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu affirmed, “The operation began in Gaza and it will end in Gaza,” adding, “We will not leave those monsters there. We will secure the release of all our hostages and ensure that Gaza no longer poses a threat to Israel.”

Israeli media reported that the Cabinet meeting did not address the issues of hostage release or the ceasefire agreement recently approved by Hamas.

On the ground, eyewitnesses reported that Israeli tanks advanced overnight into a new area on the outskirts of Gaza City, destroying homes and prompting some residents to flee. This occurred amid growing anticipation of a war-related meeting led by U.S. President Donald Trump scheduled for today.
