The ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel came into effect today, following days of mutual strikes between the two sides.

Iran’s state-run radio and television broadcaster confirmed early this morning that a ceasefire had been reached with Israel. The agreement was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump at the same time Israel reported new rocket fire from Iran.

In a live broadcast, the Iranian state channel said, “The enemy has been forced to accept the ceasefire.”

Approximately an hour and a half before the agreement took effect, Iran launched six rocket barrages toward Israel, triggering air raid sirens across the country. The Israeli military confirmed that several salvos of rockets had been fired from Iran.

The Israeli army added that air defense systems had been redeployed to counter the threat, noting that sirens had sounded again in several areas within the country.

Earlier, the U.S. president had announced that Iran and Israel had reached a ceasefire agreement.

Responding on the X platform, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote that, at that moment, there was no official agreement on a ceasefire or to end military operations.

However, Araghchi added that if Israel halted its "illegal aggression" against the Iranian people by 4:00 a.m. Tehran time, "we have no intention of continuing our response afterward."

Later, Araghchi stated that military operations "continued until the last moment, at 04:00 a.m."
