ISIS attacks positions of Damascus forces in countryside of Homs and Deir ez-Zor
4 members of the Damascus government forces were killed and wounded in a surprise attack by ISIS mercenaries on the Sukhna-Palmyra road in the Homs countryside, while sites and points belonging to the Damascus government forces in the Deir ez-Zor countryside were attacked by ISIS, leading to clashes between the two sides.
ISIS mercenaries launched a surprise attack with light and medium weapons, starting from deep in the Syrian desert, through which they targeted a military vehicle of Damascus government forces on the Sukhna-Palmyra road in the Homs countryside.
According to what was reported by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the attack led to the death of a member of the Damascus government forces and the wounding of 3 others, while the mercenaries fled to an unknown destination deep in the desert.
In a related context, ISIS mercenaries launched a surprise attack during the past hours, on sites and points shared by both the Damascus government forces and the National Defense Forces, in the town of Zaghir Shamiya in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and accordingly armed clashes took place between the 2 parties, during which machine guns were used, Without recording any deaths or injuries, the attack ended with ISIS mercenaries fleeing deep into the desert.
This comes as ISIS mercenaries continue their escalation in various Syrian regions since the beginning of the month of Ramadan, targeting members of the Damascus government forces and its affiliates.
