Iraq announced the arrest of those involved in targeting a site in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which housed members of the international coalition and resulted in the death of a French officer.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said on Wednesday, "Those involved in targeting a site in Erbil where members of the international coalition were present have been arrested."

He added that the operation followed a drone attack on the site that killed the French soldier, and he commended the efforts of Iraqi forces in thwarting the attack.

This announcement came during a phone call between al-Sudani and French President Emmanuel Macron, in which they discussed the importance of maintaining the ceasefire to promote stability in the region and the world.
