Iranian Revolutionary Guard intensifies its deployment East Kurdistan

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard has deployed significant ground reinforcements to Kurdish areas in East Kurdistan, establishing positions within several border cities and using civilian facilities as deployment points, in coincidence with the expansion of airstrikes and the recording of damage without an accurate official tally of losses.

On the fourth day of Israeli and American airstrikes on Iran, and the latter's response on various sites in Israel, Gulf states, and neighboring countries, a clear intensification of movements and deployments by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Kurdish areas of East Kurdistan became apparent, coinciding with the expansion of the air campaign.

Tehran deployed large units of its ground forces to the border strip, where they were stationed in the cities of Sardasht, Piranshahr, and Sheno, and used some mosques and schools as temporary deployment points. This move reflects a high level of mobilization and a reinforcement of the military presence within Kurdish cities.

Roj News Agency, citing local sources, reported withdrawals and redeployments of security personnel from some cities towards inland areas or towards the border and other Kurdish regions.

This deployment coincided with strikes targeting military and security bases and centers in several cities, including Kermanshah, Urmia, Sanandaj, Mahabad, Marivan, Saqqez, and Ilam, amid the registration of damage inflicted to residential areas, with no precise official casualty figures being released yet.
