Iranian authorities sentence HPG fighter from N. Kurdistan to death

The Iranian Supreme Court approved the death sentence against a fighter from N.Kurdistan in the People's Defense Forces, Adham Ozdemir, which was issued by the so-called "Revolutionary Court" in 2022.

Edham Ozdemir, known as (Regesh) was born in 1977 in the Agiri region in N. Kurdistan, and joined the ranks of the Gêrîla forces in 2014.

Adham was captured on May 23, 2019, during clashes with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in the Barda Sipî  area of ​​the Qalaniyeh region.

On July 28, 2019, the media center of the Popular Defense Forces announced in a statement that one Gêrîla fighter was martyred and another was injured during those clashes. After 33 months of detention, Adham appeared before what is known as the “Revolutionary Court” and was sentenced to death on March 15, 2022.

The Kurdistan Organization for Human Rights reported that Adham is currently detained in Urmia Prison, and that the court approved the death sentence issued against him.
