Interim Govt. proceeds with addressing "external" certificates issue, neglecting "internal" ones 

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the Syrian Interim Government issued a decision on Wednesday exempting students holding Egyptian secondary school certificates from submitting their academic transcripts for the tenth and eleventh grades.

The Ministry had previously issued a decision exempting students holding a duly authenticated Turkish Basic Education Certificate from taking the Syrian Basic Education Certificate exam.

In this context, Marwan al-Halabi; the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Interim Government, confirmed that the process of equivalence certificates issued outside Syria is being directly overseen by the Ministry. He indicated that work is underway to process authentication and equivalency applications using mechanisms that combine academic rigor with expedited procedures.

This comes as the Interim Government continues to postpone the process of accrediting and establishing equivalence certificates issued by the Autonomous Administration's educational institutions in Rojava and Sweida city.

Observers believe that the Ministry's focus on addressing certificates issued abroad, while neglecting the issue of internal certificates, raises concerns about the future of thousands of students and graduates.
