HPG: Turkish air, ground offensive on Defense areas
The People's Defense Forces revealed the details of a ground and air attack by the Turkish occupation army on the Defense areas in southern Kurdistan, and confirmed that it aims to expand its occupation.
The Media Center of the People's Defense Forces a statement stated: "The invading Turkish army launched an invasion attack on the night of 16 April, covering the areas of Asê, Yekmalê, Xirabê, Xankê and Şêlazê villages in the region of Metina region. The occupying Turkish army wants to expand its occupation operation in these areas by resorting to different tactics, not all at once, but step by step."
On this basis, on the nights of April 17, 18, and 19, the attack helicopters and warplanes of the Turkish occupation army bombed the resistance squares in Orti Hill and Gargel Hill, and the attack launched by the enemy army on the night of April 19 extended to Şêlazê Square and Darkel Square and is still continuing, in addition to Hakkari Hill, Gargel Hill, Shahid Jakdar Hill, Shahid Blenk Hill, Orti Hill, Asê, Yekmalê, Kharab, Khank, Şêlazê and Derkal are subjected to continuous bombardment using the helicopters, planes, artillery and mortar shells.
