Health, educational services in Shahba stopped over Damascus's blockade

The Damascus government tightened the siege on Shahba area. It does not allow essential materials, medicines and fuel to enter the area. 

The blockade has negatively affected all aspects of life.

On November 25, the Education Body announced the suspension of education in the district’s schools, in addition to the Martyr Vianne Amara institutes. Accordingly, 68 schools and institutes were closed and 14,500 male and female students were deprived of their right to education.

It is not only the siege imposed by the Damascus government that affects students. The attacks of the Turkish occupation state also affect the region and affect the educational sector.

While the Education Body seeks to search for alternatives so that students are not deprived of education.

According to the Health Body in Afrin and Shahba canton, Afrin Hospital is operating in an emergency. The shortage of diesel also led to many departments stopping work in the hospital. The electricity to the hospital was cut off, while the special surveillance department remained at work. This situation has been going on for a week.

According to the Health Body, hospital vehicles have been stopped, in addition to the lack of medicines.
