Today, the brother of Leader Abdullah Ocalan, Muhammad Ocalan, through his client Mazloum Deng, submitted a request to the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate in order to meet his brother in Imrali.

The brother of the detainee, Omar Hayri Kunar, Ali Kunar, Hamili Yildirim’s brother, Polat Yildirim, and Weysi Aktaş’s sister, Meliha Aktaş, also submitted the same request to the Republican Prosecutor’s Office in Bursa and the Imrali Prison Directorate.

However, since March 25, 2021, the Turkish state authorities have prevented obtaining any information from the detainees in Imrali Prison, under the pretext of imposing so-called “disciplinary penalties.”

Yesterday, the lawyers of Leader Abdullah Ocalan submitted a new request to the Turkish authorities to meet with their client.

The Turkish authorities reject requests submitted by lawyers and families of detainees to meet with their families.

Lawyers visit the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Imrali Prison Directorate twice a week to meet with them, but their requests are systematically left unanswered.
