Intellectuals in Qamishlo have expressed their rejection of Syrian Education Ministry Decision No. 964/2068, which allocates only three weekly lessons for teaching the Kurdish language. They said the decision fails to reflect the scale of the Kurdish people's sacrifices and aspirations, following the former regime's chauvinistic policies toward the Kurdish language and culture. Data from markets and farmers, along with official statements, point to difficulties in the availability of cash and currency exchange mechanisms. There are differing explanations for the situation, ranging from a liquidity shortage to rising prices, while the Central Bank has said there has been no increase in the money supply.

Residents of ÇelAxa have called for encroachments on pedestrian sidewalks to be removed and for their use to be regulated. Parts of the sidewalks have been turned into spaces for displaying goods and placing restaurant tables and chairs, obstructing pedestrian movement and, in some cases, forcing people to walk in the middle of the roads. From wearing traditional clothing to singing old folk songs, Kurdish women preserve social customs and traditions passed down from their grandmothers, passing them on to their children and preserving them from one generation to the next.
