Citizens of Hasaka have strongly condemned Turkey’s continued policy of torture and extermination against Abdullah Ocalan.  The current situation in NE  Syria necessitates a collective international response to counter Turkish crimes, ensure civilian protection, and safeguard vital infrastructure.  The Co-Chair of the Public Relations Office in the Syrian Democratic Council stressed that the Autonomous Administration serves as the key stabilizing force preventing Syria from descending into civil war.  Syria, currently under HTS rule, is moving towards an uncertain future, resembling an Islamist version of the Baathist regime, where sectarianism replaces nationalist ideology. While international powers recognize this shift, they continue to treat the ruling authority as legitimate due to their state-centric interests, prioritizing geopolitical gains over the well-being of the Syrian people. These forces seek to maintain Syria in a condition that aligns with their strategic interests.

 Ilham Ahmed stated that easing sanctions on Syria would help the people and called for an end to Turkey’s occupation. She also demanded an internationally supervised return of displaced persons to their homes. She emphasized that a resolution in Syria cannot be achieved without genuine Arab support, reaffirming that Syria’s fate lies in the hands of its people and that national unity is the only path to liberation from occupation and tyranny.
