With the arrival of Newroz, women from the city of Qamishlo highlighted the importance of this day for the Kurdish people and all the peoples of the region. They emphasized that Newroz symbolizes freedom and identity, while also carrying a cultural dimension and a historical legacy passed down through generations. Syrian activist and political writer Ali Al-Amin Al-Suwaid stated that the Syrian Interim Government is using the issue of detainees and forcibly disappeared persons as part of political bargaining and pressure exchanges, despite the humanitarian nature of this issue.
