Women from the city of Darbasiyah pointed out that the Turkish authorities have taken no positive steps in response to the call for peace and democratic society issued by leader Abdullah Ocalan several months ago. They emphasized that the physical freedom of the leader is an urgent necessity to guide the current phase toward peace in Northern Kurdistan and Turkey.

 Political analyst Hiwa Saeed Salimi affirmed that the PKK’s decision to end the armed struggle is historic and courageous, and that full responsibility now lies with the Turkish state to take concrete steps toward resolving the Kurdish issue. He added that the PKK is no longer required to take any further measures.

 The region of North and East Syria is experiencing a severe agricultural crisis this year due to the scarcity of rainfall, worsening drought, and the Turkish occupation's cutting off of river water. This has led to widespread deterioration in agricultural crops, particularly rain-fed ones, negatively affecting food security and the region’s economy.

 Based on the historic call for peace and democratic society issued by leader Abdullah Ocalan, the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) held its twelfth and final emergency congress between May 5 and 7. On May 12, the decisions of the congress were announced, including the dissolution of the PKK and the end of the armed struggle. Thus, the activities of the PKK, which had continued for 47 years, have come to an end.

 The People's Municipality in the city of Hasakah has prepared a comprehensive action plan for the current year, aiming to improve infrastructure through large-scale rehabilitation projects, strengthening sewage networks, and developing public spaces and parks.

 The Women’s Office of the Syrian Democratic Council is holding a dialogue seminar titled “Civil Peace and Its Role After Wars and Conflicts,” at the Council’s office in Hasakah at 10:00 AM.

 The Democratic Union Party, in coordination with the Council of Elders in Qamishlo, is holding an expanded meeting to explain and evaluate the current political vision and the challenges the region is facing in terms of politics and services. The meeting will take place at Zana Hall at 11:00 AM.

 Under the slogan “The Victory of Fighters and the People at Tishrin Dam is the Guarantee of the Revolutionary People’s War,” the Syrian Revolutionary Youth Movement in Jazira Canton is organizing an event at the Martyrs' Stadium (Municipal Stadium) in Qamishlo at 4:00 PM.

 The Martyrs’ Families Council in the city of Darbasiyah is organizing a memorial ceremony for 154 martyrs at the Martyr Rustam Judi Cemetery at 5:00 PM.

 On the occasion of Martyrs' Day, which falls on May 18, the people of the Euphrates Canton will commemorate the martyrs of May by lighting candles on their graves at the Martyr Dîcle Cemetery in the city of Kobani at 7:30 PM.
